Like fragments of old US 66 across the country, there are
isolated
pieces of historic NC 10 still named after the old highway scattered
along US 70 throughout North
Carolina. Modern NC 10 follows a piece of historic NC 10, but has been
extended west and parallels one of the historic NC 10 roads, some miles
away. For the history of the transition in Orange County of NC-10 to current US-70, see
this page.
